The Technical Research Committee (TRC) discusses technical research and innovation, as well as codes, standards and regulations affecting how homes are constructed. Modular Construction Council

The Modular Construction Council (Modular) supports the increasing role of factory-built modular construction in the building industry. Members of Modular are expected to attend, and provincial EOs are strongly encouraged to attend. All other CHBA members and HBA staff with an interest in factory-based construction, productivity improvement, technical research and innovation are welcome to attend.

Women In Residential Construction Council

The Women in Residential Construction Council (WIRCC) is a forum to share information and best practices, as well as discuss policy, programming and other initiatives to best support women in residential construction. WIRCC also helps to inform specific responses by the Board to municipal, provincial, and federal actions that impact the sector general, and women in the sector in particular. Members of the Council are expected to attend, and EOs, especially with representatives on the Committee, are strongly encouraged to attend. All other CHBA members and HBA staff are welcome to attend.

The Executive Officers' Council (EOC) is a resource for supporting the professional development of Association staff and provides advice to the Board of Directors on issues of importance. Canadian Renovators' Council Meeting

The Canadian Renovators' Council (CRC) addresses the professional interests of renovators and issues impacting their businesses. The Urban Council (UC) is focused on issues that affect how Canadian communities grow and develop, including municipal infrastructure investments, new home taxes, fees, levies and charges, and development regulations. Members of the Urban Council are expected to attend, and Provincial EOs are strongly encouraged to attend. Any other CHBA member and HBA staff who has an interest in the Urban Council is welcome to attend.

CHBA Board of Directors and Annual Meeting of Members

Responsible for the overall governance of the Association, the Board meets to set key policies and direction at the national level. Along with electing directors to serve on the Executive Committee and the national Board of Directors, one of the main jobs of the Annual Meeting of Members is to decide on resolutions. Members of the Board and provincial EOs are expected to attend. All other CHBA members and HBA staff are encouraged to attend.

Organized Tours - Optional ($)
Historical Walking Tour of Old Quebec: Your guide will lead you through the charming cobblestone streets of Old Québec – the only walled city north of Mexico and the only one in North America to have preserved its ramparts, numerous bastions, gates and defensive works. Founded in the early 17th century, Old Québec earned its UNESCO World Heritage Site title thanks to its authenticity and exceptional preservation of this birthplace of French North America. During your tour, you will see the iconic landmarks such as the Château Frontenac, Terrasse Dufferin, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Basilica and the Place Royale, to name a few, and stop at a local brewery for a beer tasting.

Countryside Excursion on Île d'Orléans: Historical Île d’Orléans, the “Garden of Québec”, lies in the St. Lawrence estuary, just a short drive from Québec City. The scenic Chemin Royal goes all around the island, linking all six picturesque municipalities, dotted with old stone houses, farms and orchards. During the drive, you will not only see that the island has maintained it’s agricultural vocation, (specialising in berries, apples, maple syrup and much more), you will also get a chance to meet local artisanal producers and sample their delicious wares.
