2024 CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence Finalists Named
OTTAWA, ON – March 13, 2024 – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2024 CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence, Canada’s premiere competition for new homes, home renovations, community development, and residential marketing.
It was a record-breaking year for the competition. Over 900 entries were submitted from across the country, making each of the 48 categories highly competitive. Entries were judged by nearly 300 volunteer industry experts. They reviewed project descriptions, images, and other supporting information such as floor plans included in the submission packages.
Canada is a large country, with a large variety of housing types at many different price points. The categories within the competition reflect the array of homes that are built and renovated each year for both homeownership and rental.
“This year was our largest awards competition ever. We received entries from small family-run businesses who build and renovate just a few homes a year, and from larger companies who are building the neighbourhoods that Canadians live in. The caliber of entries is a testament to the work and skills that are needed in the residential construction industry. This year’s finalists should be very proud of what they have accomplished on the national stage,” said CEO Kevin Lee.
Forty-eight awards for excellence in housing will be presented on May 10th in Saint John, New Brusnwick during CHBA’s Home Building Week in Canada. Categories include:
- New Home Awards (16 awards)
- New Home Spaces Awards (4 awards)
- Net Zero Home Awards (2 awards)
- Home Renovation Awards (12 awards)
- Community Development Awards (2 awards)
- Marketing Awards (12 awards)
Along with the above, three major awards will also be presented. The Design Excellence Award, Renovation Excellence Award, and Marketing Excellence Award will each be presented to the home builder or renovator who has achieved the best overall standing in the respective new home, renovation, and marketing categories.
