2023 CHBA Association Leadership Award Winners Announced
Banff, AB – February 16, 2023 – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is pleased to announce the winners of its Association Leadership Awards. Presented during CHBA’s Home Building Week in Canada, these prestigious awards showcase the contributions, qualities and accomplishments of leaders within our Association that truly make the difference:
- The Member of the Year is Tom Cochren, whose enthusiasm and dedicated service to the national level of CHBA has spanned over four decades. Tom has volunteered countless hours of service at all levels of the Association over the years and has served in many key roles at the national level, serving as CHBA President in 1989.
- Home Builders’ Association (HBA) of the Year is West End Builders’ Association for its record of membership development and services, internal leadership and governance, and the effectiveness of its government advocacy and communication activities.
- The Executive Officer of the Year is Rose Choy from CHBA – Central Interior for her leadership of the association and ability to work effectively with volunteer leaders to create a strong and positive voice for the housing industry, including administration, financial and human resource management, policy development and advocacy, membership development, media relations and communications.
- The Community Service Award was presented to CHBA – Vancouver Island for its community service or charitable projects that demonstrate the commitment of the housing industry to making a difference to the quality of life of their communities. Their largest accomplishment last year was the construction of a 3,000 square foot Dream Home Lottery home in support of a local standalone hospice facility to relieve pressure off the palliative care unit at their local hospital.
