Do CHBA Conference attendees get special room prices at the Conference hotel?

Yes, CHBA has negotiated special Conference room rates. These group rates are considerably lower than regular rates and are available to delegates until April 5, 2019. Guestrooms are limited, so please book your room at the same time you register to ensure your required accommodation.

What is the Guest Evening Event Package?

Guests/spouses of conference delegates who do not wish to participate in all conference functions may register for the Guest Evening Event Package, which includes admittance to the Welcome Reception (Wednesday evening), Housing Night in Canada (Thursday evening), and the Awards Gala (Friday evening).

Can I attend the pre-Conference meetings?

CHBA members are welcome to observe most of the pre-Conference meetings. If you intend to observe, please indicate so during the registration process so CHBA staff can be sure there is adequate seating available. A few meetings, mostly of a management nature, are not open to observers—you won't see the option to attend those when you register.

I have some dietary restrictions. Can the Conference accommodate my needs?

When you register for the Conference, you will be offered a choice of two types of meals – a regular meal or a gluten/dairy/nut/shellfish-free vegan option. Please select the type of meal you prefer. We provide this information to the hotel well in advance, so that your pre-selected choice will be available for you. At sit-down meal functions, please advise your server and they will bring you your special meal.

What is Housing Night in Canada?

More than anything else, Housing Night in Canada is a lot of fun, great food, music and dancing. The entire evening is intended as a celebration of our industry and our Association. Residential construction, renovation and development play a critical role in Canada’s economy, and CHBA members are the people who make this happen. We have a lot to celebrate!

What should I know about the National Awards for Housing Excellence on Friday?

This is a more formal evening—black-tie optional. It starts off with the 2019 CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence, showcasing the best of the best in new homes, renovations and community development, as well as new home marketing. The Housing Awards presentation is always a full house, with extra guests arriving that night just for the awards presentations.

Right after the Awards ceremony, we'll toast the winners with "cocktails on the red carpet." A fine dining experience will top off the evening, followed by the after party.
