The NZC supports innovation in our industry with the goal of creating a market advantage for CHBA members. The mandate of the Council is to deliver services that will support members’ voluntary adoption of Net Zero Energy (NZE) housing. Members of the Net Zero Council are expected to attend, and Provincial/Local EOs are strongly encouraged to attend. Any other CHBA member and HBA staff who has an interest in the NZC are welcome to attend.

Net Zero Council Exchange

The Net Zero Exchange provides Net Zero Energy Housing Council (NZC) members an opportunity to share lessons learned and stay abreast of advancements in energy-efficient housing. Presentations will include time for discussion and Q&A. Members of the NZC are encouraged to attend. Members of the CHBA Board of Directors, EOs and HBA staff who have an interest in the NZC are welcome to attend.

Net Zero Council Networking Session

The Net Zero Energy Housing Council (NZC) Networking session offers NZC members a casual gathering with appetizers and drinks to continue conversations and relationship building with their Net Zero peer network. Members of the NZC are encouraged to attend. Members of the CHBA Board of Directors, EOs and HBA staff who have an interest in networking with members of the NZC are also welcome to attend.

Technical Research Committee

The TRC discusses technical research and innovation, as well as codes, standards and regulations affecting how homes are constructed. Members of the Technical Research Committee are expected to attend, and provincial EOs are strongly encouraged to attend. All other CHBA members and HBA staff with an interest in housing technology are welcome to attend.

Modular Construction Council

The Modular Construction Council supports the increasing role of factory-built modular construction in the building industry. Members of Modular Construction Council are expected to attend, and provincial EOs are strongly encouraged to attend. All other CHBA members and HBA staff with an interest in factory-based construction, productivity improvement, technical research and innovation are welcome to attend.

The Urban Council is focused on issues that affect how Canadian communities grow and develop, including municipal infrastructure investments, new home taxes, fees, levies and charges, and development regulations.
