Economic Research Committee
The Economic Research Committee (ERC) is the key forum for the exchange of economic information on the housing industry and its impact on Canada's economy. This role involves both new home construction and residential renovation, as well as matters related to the economic interests of all association members, from financial services to manufacturers and suppliers.
The Committee comprises association representatives from the Provincial level, along with representatives from federal government departments and agencies, and representatives of non-government organizations and industry partners. Specifically, the ERC acts on behalf of the Association in assessing and reporting on short, medium and long-term factors which affect the business environment of firms operating in the residential construction industry. The ERC advises the membership, including the Executive Board and Board of Directors, about results of committee deliberations, and economic and housing forecasts. The ERC also publishes housing economic information and related data for the benefit of the membership on a regular basis.
